Exosomes
Everyone is talking about exosomes—even actress-turned-reality-TV-star Tori Spelling. She recently said her dramatically altered appearance is a result of exosome therapy, not plastic surgery, as has been alleged in the popular press.
I can’t comment on that, but exosome therapy is hot, especially when it comes to hair restoration and facial rejuvenation.
Exosomes are extracellular vesicles released by stem cells that carry genetic information and proteins to cells throughout the body. This therapy falls under the umbrella of regenerative medicine, which means it also falls under the watchful eye of the FDA. There are currently no FDA-approved exosome products.
Many companies are marketing topicals featuring exosomes that they claim will boost collagen and elastin to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. Some of these companies have already received warning letters from the FDA.
Exosomes can also be used with microneedling and other in-office procedures, and some doctors are offering exosome scalp injections to treat hair loss.
I expect we will hear a lot more about the promise of exosome therapy in the coming months.

Big Brother has spoken, and the good news is that he believes in science.
Bottom line? It’s no jab, no job for many healthcare workers.
The Biden-Harris Administration will require COVID-19 vaccination of staff within all Medicare and Medicaid-certified facilities across the country. Many states will allow for weekly testing as an alternative to vaccination.
What are you planning to do in your office? I, for one, strongly recommend vaccines for staff and will follow the Biden-Harris Administration’s mandate.
