Heather Woolery-Lloyd, MD, FAAD, has been appointed program development advisor for Skin of Color Update, the nation’s largest medical education event focused on dermatologic care for patients with skin of color.

Dr. Woolery-Lloyd serves as director of the Skin of Color Division at the University of Miami Dr. Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery. A longtime lecturer at Skin of Color Update, she joins founders and conference co-chairs Andrew F. Alexis, MD, MPH, FAAD, and Eliot F. Battle, MD, in planning the 2026 meeting, scheduled for October 9–11 at the New York Hilton Midtown.

“It is a true honor to be asked to serve as a program development advisor for Skin of Color Update,” Dr. Woolery-Lloyd said. “Skin of Color Update has long been a go-to resource for me and so many of my colleagues. I have been consistently impressed by this meeting's ability to keep clinicians up to date on the latest in skin of color dermatology. I am excited to have the opportunity to lend my expertise and help shape what is sure to be another successful and exciting year.”

Dr. Alexis noted that Dr. Woolery-Lloyd has been one of the conference’s top speakers since its inception and praised her as a passionate educator with extensive clinical and research experience. Dr. Battle added that her expertise and ongoing contributions make her an ideal addition to the leadership team as the event continues to deliver clinically relevant, impactful education in dermatology.
