Expand Your Horizons: Achieve Best-in-class Results and Leave No Patient Behind with Sciton
My partnership with Sciton has been long and profitable. Our story goes back to when Jim Hobart, PhD, laser physicist and co-founder of Sciton, launched their first Erbium laser in 1999. Shortly after the launch, I got an opportunity to observe what this Erbium laser could do and see its potential as a viable alternative to the CO2 and its unwanted adverse effects. Little was known about this device at the time, but it certainly piqued my interest. I did more research on it, fell in love with it, and bought one for my practice. Once I was onboard, Jim and I began to work together on this novel device. That’s when I realized that Sciton was a company I could partner with. When I told Jim what worked and what didn’t, he listened. When I presented unknowns and asked questions, he addressed them. My feedback mattered, but I wasn’t just being heard, Sciton was also advancing my cause. I was getting better results, better downtime, and fewer complications than with any other laser I had worked with.
Fast forward to today and Sciton has come a long way. Not only have they greatly advanced their surgical devices, but they’ve moved forward in leaps and bounds to accommodate the 90 percent of patients who will never get surgery. Sciton’s technology allowed me to bring value to the whole audience, not just those who want resurfacing. Thanks to Sciton’s JOULE® X platform, business has been booming. I can focus my attention where it’s needed: on complex resurfacing and facelifts, and confidently delegate the bulk of non-surgical procedures to my staff, knowing full well that they will always be equipped to deliver safe treatments with the best possible results.

Sciton really has best-in-class technology. And it’s not just the technology itself that’s great; it’s easy to use and comfortable. I remember when Sciton introduced the JOULE X with HALO®, their hybrid fractional laser. I didn’t think I needed it, as I thought my fractional CO2 had the latest engineering advancements, but I trust Sciton engineers and was open to trying it. There was no pressure to sell HALO treatments, but my staff quickly became enamored with it. It was a straightforward treatment with better wavelengths, better results, and less discomfort. The patients were really happy. And who doesn’t love good feedback? I bought the JOULE X as a technology upgrade to my old platform and I even trademarked my own treatment incorporating HALO, which I call HALO Skin to LifeTM. It’s a milder, gentler resurfacing that minimizes downtime. It’s the perfect alternative for those who don’t want aggressive resurfacing but would like to go a step above HALO for advanced facial wrinkles.
Sciton truly has a device for everything! I recently moved from senior partner at the country’s largest plastic surgery clinic to opening my own solo practice, Resurrect Skin MD. My original 22-year-old platform and JOULE X were serving me well, but I knew Sciton could offer me more. I brought in the mJOULETM with BBL® HEROTM and MOXITM and it has been a huge success. It’s a leading source of revenue simply because it produces consistent quality results—some of the best I’ve ever seen. BBL HERO can rapidly treat reds and browns over the entire body. Most treatments can produce significant improvement in treatment times under 20 minutes. You get no striping and there is very little discomfort. It’s an absolute bang for the buck! MOXI, on the other hand, opened up doors to a clientele that could never be treated safely. It produces minimal inflammation, so we can now safely treat the full range of Fitzpatrick skin types. Even more exciting is that we can now treat melasma. With the high rate of recurrence for this condition and its prevalence in people with darker skin, we were never confident in treating melasma patients. Now we welcome them for regular maintenance treatments.
Sciton has been an incredible partner for over 20 years. They’ve upheld my reputation. I often refer the company to my colleagues with confidence, knowing they’ll never be disappointed. They hit all the marks on what I believe makes a great laser company: products backed by strong science, outstanding service, and decent people who will listen to you and stick around after you purchase their devices. I will go back to Sciton again and again. Their devices are not cheap lasers, but they are great lasers and a worthwhile investment that will pay itself off in record time!
