JUVÉDERM VOLUX XC, ALLERGAN AESTHETICS

Juvéderm Volux XC (Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company) is now available at aesthetic practices nationwide. The filler is approved for patients older than 21 years of age with moderate to severe loss of jawline definition. The product is the newest member of the Juvéderm Collection and offers a minimally invasive, nonsurgical treatment option with minimal downtime.

Per the company, in a clinical trial, patients reported high satisfaction with the results of their treatment. Commonly reported side effects in the study included tenderness, lumps/bumps, pain, swelling, firmness, bruising, redness, itching, and discoloration at the injection sites. These side effects are consistent with hyaluronic acid–based filler injections, and severity was usually mild (causing little discomfort and no effect on daily activities) or moderate (causing some discomfort and effect on daily activities). Derma E announced the launch of two new vegan skincare products. Vitamin C 10% Multi-Acid Radiance Liquid Peel joins the brand’s Vitamin C product line. The company stated that the new liquid peel is uniquely formulated with lactic, glycolic, mandelic, and kojic acids to polish skin gently yet effectively. Hyaluronic acid and aloe are combined with niacinamide and bromelain fruit enzymes to nourish and brighten skin for a glowing complexion, according to Derma E. Derma E also introduced Retinal Concentrated Serum, which is formulated with 0.5% encapsulated Retinal technology. Skinuva announced the launch of its newest physician-developed and solutions-driven product, Skinuva Scar+ SPF. This scar photoaging defense cream uses highly selective growth factors with zinc oxide mineral sunscreen. According to the company, Skinuva Scar+ has all the benefits of the original Skinuva Scar but with added nonnano zinc oxide for broad-spectrum SPF 30 UVA/UVB protection to help improve the appearance of scars in sun-exposed areas. www.skinuva.com
