Teoxane has launched RHA Topical Skin Booster, a professional-use sterile topical solution developed for application immediately following microneedling procedures.
The product expands the company’s Resilient Hyaluronic Acid (RHA) technology beyond its injectable portfolio and into procedure-integrated skin care. According to Teoxane, the formulation is intended for use during the post-microneedling period, when temporary microchannels increase skin permeability and the skin subsequently enters a recovery phase.
RHA Topical Skin Booster Data Following Microneedling
RHA Topical Skin Booster contains 12.5% RHA, or 125 mg/mL, which Teoxane describes as its highest concentration of RHA formulated in a topical solution. The formulation also contains free low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid, a collagen and elastin booster, amino acids, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.
In company-provided clinical and laboratory evaluations, use of the topical solution was associated with a 17.6% reduction in transepidermal water loss within 1 hour. An ex vivo evaluation reported a 60% increase in collagen I production after 5 days with microneedling and the topical product, while another ex vivo study reported a 62% increase in epidermal hyaluronic acid production after 5 days.
In a self-assessment involving 31 participants aged 30 to 70 years, 97% reported a tightening effect 10 minutes after 1 application. Teoxane also reported that 91% of participants perceived smoother skin and 89% perceived firmer skin after 5 days.
“What happens in the hours following a procedure can be just as important as the treatment itself,” Dr. Lain said. “During this period, the skin is actively repairing and rebuilding.”
The product is available exclusively through authorized health care professionals and aesthetic practices, according to Teoxane.
