Surgeon Introduces “Preservation Lasers” Protocol for No-Downtime, Collagen-Supportive Skin Renewal

As patients increasingly seek preventative, low-downtime skin treatments, combination laser protocols are emerging as a new standard in aesthetic care. Double board-certified facial plastic surgeon Anil Shah, MD, FACS, is responding to this shift with the launch of the “Preservation Lasers”—a proprietary, multi-session treatment designed to protect skin integrity while delivering visible, cumulative improvements in tone, texture, and early signs of aging.

“We’re moving away from the idea that skin has to be ‘reset’ to look better,” Dr. Shah said in a press release. “Preservation Lasers are designed to support how skin naturally produces collagen, delivering visible results over time without the risk or downtime of a single aggressive laser.”

The in-office treatment combines a picosecond laser with a gentle CO₂ laser in each session, targeting pigment, pores, fine lines, and mild laxity without disrupting the epidermis or triggering necrosis.

“Traditional resurfacing relies on damage; this approach stimulates instead of injures,” Dr. Shah said. “We’re using the fastest lasers available to trigger renewal without overheating or breaking down healthy tissue.”

Best suited for patients in their 20s and beyond who are looking to proactively preserve elasticity and refine skin quality, the series is safe for all skin types and tones. It is not designed for advanced wrinkling or severe laxity, which are better addressed surgically or with deeper ablative lasers.

The protocol consists of six treatments, spaced to allow results to build gradually. Sessions take under an hour, with minimal post-care. Mild redness may occur, but most patients resume daily activities within 24 hours.

Patients typically report brighter, smoother skin after a few sessions, with subtle lifting and improved texture by the end of the series.

“This isn’t about instant transformation,” Dr. Shah said. “It’s about sustained, natural improvements that preserve the skin’s architecture and long-term health.”
