SK-II Introduces Pitera Expert Panel

07/19/2023

SK-II’s PITERA may reduce the Aging Trigger Factor (AT-0), potentially slowing skin aging, according to research presented at the World Congress of Dermatology 2023 in Singapore.

AT-0 accelerates signs of aging via a chain reaction, even as early as in the 20s. If left untreated, the aging chain reaction can lead to accelerated aging signs, resulting in more severe signs of premature aging.  PITERA is a naturally derived ingredient crafted from a proprietary yeast fermentation process. It is the active ingredient in SK-II’s newest launch, SKINPOWER Advanced Cream.

Alexa B. Kimball, MD, MPH, President and CEO and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School in Boston, presented the findings which also appear in Experimental Dermatology.

Following the World Congress of Dermatology, SK-II introduced its first-ever PITERA Science Expert Panel.
