Neuvian Skincare Granted US Patent for Dual-Peptide Complex

Neuvian Skincare has received a US patent for its dual-peptide formulation targeting inflammatory skin conditions such as wounds, scars, and eczema, according to a press release. The patent (No. 12,377,156 B2), issued for “Compositions and Methods for Treatment of Wounds and Inflammatory Skin Conditions,” secures both composition and method claim around the company's Bioidentical Dual Peptide Technology™.

The technology pairs L-Carnosine and GHK-Cu in a cyclodextrin-stabilized complex—a configuration the company said has not been patented at the composition level. While both peptides have been individually studied for their effects on oxidative stress, skin elasticity, and renewal, Neuvian's proprietary method introduces them in a stabilized form aimed at enhancing their synergistic activity.

The company reports that in vitro, nonclinical research on the formulation demonstrated effects on biomarkers associated with collagen synthesis, skin elasticity, and barrier function. Though early, the findings suggest potential utility in both consumer skincare and clinical applications.

"While L-Carnosine and GHK-Cu have been studied independently, our proprietary approach brings them together for the first time in a stabilized complex," Chief Scientific Officer Spencer Bouhadir said. "This creates a unique synergy that supports skin function in ways not achieved in conventional skincare."

The patent may serve as a foundation for future product development, including Neuvian’s NMF+ Rejuvenation Serum, which utilizes the technology.
