Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty

An investigational hybrid dermal filler combining cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) with polycaprolactone (PCL) and polylactic acid (PLA) microspheres showed short-term aesthetic improvement and generally mild treatment-emergent adverse events.

Researchers for the uncontrolled study included 150 adults from a single center in the analysis who underwent nonsurgical rhinoplasty and were evaluated through 3 months. Investigators assessed safety and tolerability alongside Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS) ratings, patient satisfaction, nasal tip projection, dorsal height, and procedural characteristics.

Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty Outcomes at 3 Months

At month 1, 86.7% of participants received GAIS ratings of Improved or Very Improved vs 83.3% at month 3. Satisfaction scores of 4 or 5 were reported by 90.0% and 86.7% at months 1 and 3, respectively. Objective measurements also showed early changes in nasal contour. Tip projection increased by more than 1.5 mm in 70.0% of participants; 63.3% experienced an increase in dorsal height of more than 2.0 mm.

“The investigational formulation demonstrated favorable short-term tolerability and early aesthetic improvement in an uncontrolled pilot setting,” the authors wrote. “These findings do not establish comparative effectiveness, long-term durability, tissue integration, or long-term biocompatibility. Controlled studies with extended follow-up are required.”
