FDA Approves RHA® Dynamic Volume for Midface Augmentation
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved RHA® Dynamic Volume from the Teoxane RHA® Collection for cheek augmentation and correction of age-related midface contour deficiencies in adults 22 and older, Revance and Teoxane announced.
Formerly known as RHA® 4 Mepi, the filler will formally launch under its new name in the first quarter of 2026. RHA® Dynamic Volume is powered by Teoxane’s proprietary Preserved Network Technology (PNT), a heat-free crosslinking process designed to preserve the natural structure of hyaluronic acid. The product features high dynamic strength and stretch, allowing for deep structural support while maintaining expressiveness and natural movement.
FDA approval was based on results from a 52-week, multicenter, double-blinded, head-to-head Phase III clinical trial comparing RHA® Dynamic Volume with Juvéderm® Voluma® XC in patients with moderate to severe midface volume loss. The study demonstrated comparable efficacy, with fewer sessions and touch-ups required for the RHA® product. More than 94% of patients reported natural-looking and natural-feeling results at both rest and motion through one year post-treatment. Participants did not report any sensation of restricted facial movement, underscoring the filler’s adaptability to facial dynamics.
The trial employed a modern treatment protocol in which 75% of subjects received injections into both deep and superficial fat pads to achieve balanced results. RHA® Dynamic Volume showed a favorable safety profile, with no serious or delayed treatment-related adverse events, including granulomas.
