Dr. CI:Labo Presents New Clinical Data on Post-IPL Skincare for Asian Skin at IMCAS Asia 2025
At IMCAS Asia 2025, Dr.CI:LABOTM presented new clinical findings demonstrating the efficacy of two of its skincare products—VC100 Essence Lotion EX and 377VC Radiance Serum—as adjuncts to Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments in Asian patients.
The data revealed that VC100 Essence Lotion EX, when used twice daily over 8 weeks, improved skin hydration by 21.6%, elasticity by 14.6%, and gloss by 8.7%, and it reduced hyperpigmentation by 5.9%. The formulation contains a high concentration of Micro-High Penetrating APPS Vitamin C, which was associated with increased synthesis of five types of collagen and enhanced dermal density and firmness.
“At IMCAS Asia 2025, we’re proud to present new clinical evidence that reflects the needs of today’s consumers and supports their aesthetic and skincare choices,” said Dr. Sheila Chua, board-certified dermatologist and head of medical and safety sciences, skin health & beauty, Kenvue Asia Pacific. “Our role is to provide safe, effective skincare solutions like VC100 Essence Lotion EX and 377VC Radiance Serum that can be used as daily skincare, enhanced recovery and extend results of aesthetic treatments.”
Data also showed that combining VC100 Essence Lotion EX and Emulsion with IPL therapy led to greater clinical benefits. Compared to IPL alone, combination use yielded superior improvements in hydration (25.4% vs 20.8%) and elasticity (15.5% vs 10.9%) and accelerated pigmentation reduction, with visible improvement, by the second week.
Additionally, the brand shared results from a randomized, controlled 5-week study on 377VC Radiance Serum. Participants who applied the serum daily following IPL showed a 31.88% reduction in the Melasma Area and Severity Index and a 22.13% decrease in hyperpigmentation—substantially higher than those who underwent IPL alone. Skin image analysis suggested that the serum helped reduce the risk of post-treatment re-darkening and was well tolerated.
Supporting these findings, survey results from 833 Chinese dermatologists presented at the meeting showed that 83% recognized the serum’s ability to reduce melanin synthesis, and more than 75% agreed it enhanced post-IPL outcomes and reduced the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Nearly all respondents (99%) reported growing patient demand for adjunctive skincare.
