American Women Account for Majority of Cosmetic Procedures Done in Tijuana

A recent report from the Border Report states women from the United States and Canada account for majority of the cosmetic procedures done in Tijuana, Mexico. 

The patients are primarily seeking bariatric procedures, plastic surgery and dental work, but according to the president of Baja California’s Health Tourism Association, in five years it’s expected more cardiology, fertility and regenerative procedures will be done. 

There are 8,000 suppliers in Baja California offering medical services to foreigners. This includes 525 hospitals and specialized clinics that perform surgeries. 

While there are 60 plastic surgeons who are board certified and qualified to perform cosmetic procedures, the Medical College of Tijuana states there are 600 who don’t have the credentials to perform the medical surgeries.
