Allergan Aesthetics Launches Educational Campaign to Debunk Myths About HA Fillers

Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, has launched a new national campaign titled “Naturally You with Injectable Hyaluronic Acid Fillers,” aiming to counter widespread misinformation and educate both patients and healthcare providers on the safety and effectiveness of hyaluronic acid (HA) injectable fillers.
At the core of the initiative is “The Hyaluronic Acid Injectable Fillers Report,” a comprehensive review combining proprietary consumer research, media analysis, and insights from dermatology and aesthetics experts. The report highlights evolving patient preferences, media perceptions, and social trends surrounding the use of HA fillers.
Among its key findings: nearly 90% of consumers reported satisfaction with their HA filler results, citing “natural-looking” outcomes as a primary reason. Additionally, 78% of consumers strongly agreed that there is a growing demand for subtle, more natural aesthetic enhancements. Over two-thirds of respondents turn to social media and online videos for information about HA fillers, and more than 75% believe that the use of injectable fillers will continue to rise.
Allergan says the campaign is designed to present factual, unbiased information and dispel persistent myths that may deter patients from considering treatment.
"Our goal with "Naturally You with Injectable Hyaluronic Acid Fillers"campaign is to set the record straight on hyaluronic acid injectable fillers for our healthcare providers, our patients and the category," Glen Curran, Senior Vice President, U.S. Aesthetics, Allergan Aesthetics, said. "By providing facts, real-world satisfaction data and expert insights, we hope to truly show how HA fillers are a safe and effective way to address aesthetic concerns."
The report includes perspectives from four aesthetic experts—Brittony Croasdell, NP; Lisa Espinoza, MD; Emily Hu, MD; and Terrence Keaney, MD—who offer clinical insights from their respective markets.
“The Hyaluronic Acid Injectable Fillers Report” is the first release in the company’s “Aesthetics Evolution Report Series,” which is expected to offer continued industry insights in the coming months.
