Allergan Aesthetics Expands SkinMedica® Line with New Hydrating Cleanser
Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, has introduced the latest addition to its SkinMedica® HA5® Hydra Collagen portfolio: the HA5® Hydra Collagen Hydrating Foaming Cleanser.
The cleanser combines the brand’s proprietary HA5® Hydra Collagen Complex—five forms of hyaluronic acid blended with vegan hydra collagen—with naturally derived surfactants and pea peptides. The company says the formula is designed to provide hydration while cleansing, leaving skin feeling soft and refreshed.

Traditional foaming cleansers can strip moisture from the skin, often proving too harsh for people with dry or sensitive skin, the company said in a press release. The new cleanser aims to counter this by using amino acid–based surfactants and barrier-supporting ingredients to maintain hydration. Clinical studies cited by Allergan Aesthetics found the cleanser effective in removing impurities and makeup, with hydration levels increasing by 30% when used alongside the HA5® Hydra Collagen Replenish + Restore Hydrator.
