Shown to Demonstrate Synergy for Superior Results

New Peptide Serum P-TIOX

Peptides alone have already been studied and shown to prolong the effects of botulinum toxin treatment, based on published research evaluating acetyl hexapeptide-8 and dipeptide diaminobutyroyl.1,2 P-TIOX, the new wrinkle-modulating serum from SkinCeuticals for contraction lines, texture, and radiance, takes peptides to another level with synergy active association, key biomarker activity, and powerful clinical results.

P-TIOX has been shown to demonstrate improvement in nine types of contraction lines and glass skin radiance. Glass skin radiance is visible in 1 week, and the reduction of global fine lines by 20% is seen in 12 weeks. The patent-pending formula technology includes a multi-faceted mode of action using 2% acetyl hexapeptide-8 and 2% dipeptide diaminobutyroyl to form an advanced peptide complex to address contraction lines and 5% polyhydroxy acid (PHA), 5% niacinamide, and 1% laminaria extract to form a PHA glass skin complex. Laminaria extract is known for its antiaging benefits and shown to stimulate the synthesis of collagen I in aging human fibroblasts,3 as well as to induce a protection of mitochondrial DNA.3

To prove the efficacy of P-TIOX and demonstrate the synergy of its five key ingredients compared to a peptide alone, key biomarker measurements were analyzed on human ex-vivo skin and demonstrated a significant improvement in the expression of eight biomarkers associated with skin aging, including collagen I and collagen IV.3

Whether being used as monotherapy or in combination with in-office treatments, P-TIOX provides a unique solution for addressing skin aging.

What is unique about P-TIOX and what role do its ingredients have in addressing skin aging concerns in your patients?

Rosalyn George, MD: Now, more than ever, people are invested in having healthy skin. On a daily basis, I am asked questions about how to get that glow or filtered look, as well as how to deal with wrinkles that are appearing in areas of repetitive facial movement. That is why I am so excited to have P-TIOX in my arsenal.

Peptides have garnered significant interest over the past several years due to their potential to improve many aspects of skin health. P-TIOX is a new, wrinkle-modulating peptide serum which not only on works contraction lines but also improves texture and enhances skin’s radiance. Combining the advanced peptide complex of hexapeptide-8 and dipeptide diaminobutyroyl with polyhydroxy acid (PHA), niacinamide, and laminaria extract creates a potent synergistic effect compared to the effects of any of those components alone.

What has your experience been with using P-TIOX for different types of contraction lines, and are there specific skin types or conditions that may benefit the most from P-TIOX?

Dr. George: P-TIOX is shown to reduce nine types of contraction wrinkles with noticeable results in 12 weeks and improvement in skin radiance in as little as 1 week. We know that repetitive facial movements are one of the major drivers of facial lines, which is why intramuscular injections of botulinum toxin type A are so popular. In my experience, P-TIOX provides an improvement in those same contraction wrinkles. I also love that this product is good for all skin types and can really benefit most of my patients. There really isn’t a person who isn’t a candidate, but I am encouraging patients who are just starting to feel like their skin is dull and noticing that some of their lines are starting to stick around. I have completely changed my perspective to prevention instead of intervention after the aging process has set in.

How do you advise patients when starting treatment with P-TIOX, and how can they incorporate P-TIOX into their regimen?

Dr. George: Because P-TIOX has been studied in all skin types, it is easy to incorporate into an established regimen. I recommend patients apply it twice daily, followed by moisturizer and sunscreen in the morning and moisturizer at night. It is easily tolerated and, because you see results quickly, I find that people want to continue using the product.

As a dermatologist, I am given a lot of products to try, but this is the first time I have used a product and immediately received compliments on my skin. I can honestly say it gave my skin a glow it had been missing. This product has also been popular with my husband and 17-year-old daughter. You know you have a good product when the entire family wants to use it.

What are the complementary benefits of pairing P-TIOX with in-office treatments for your patients?

Dr. George: P-TIOX makes an excellent pairing with in-office treatments, particularly with injectable treatments with neuromodulators. Because P-TIOX is delivering such powerful clinical results that patients notice quickly, it really improves patient satisfaction. Another great benefit is that there is already some evidence that these peptides may prolong the effectiveness of botulinum toxin therapy.1,2 It is a win for me and for the patient.

P-TIOX is currently being physician tested to complement botulinum toxin type A to assess its efficacy on improving skin quality attributes and wrinkles in difficult-to-inject areas and its amplification effect on improving certain wrinkles. Based on the results I have already achieved with this product in my office, I expect the testing to confirm: P-TIOX is a game-changer.
