Artifical intelligence (AI) technology is being implemented across various non-tech industries, including aesthetics. Beauty brands and professionals have recently embraced modern systems—from customized recommendations to try-on technologies. Below is a sampling of beauty tools that use AI and continue revolutionizing how clinicians approach skin care.

Haut.AI

Haut.AI merges personalized recommendations and scientific skin analysis to provide skin care solutions. It analyzes more than 15 essential skin health and beauty metrics and claims to use verified science to reach a 98% accuracy level. It’s an easy-to-use phygital skin AI tool that allows retailers to shift from selling products to solving customer concerns.

This tool uses personal information and skin measurements to evaluate common skin concerns, such as wrinkles, pigmentation, pore size, hydration, redness, and acne, which affect 50 million Americans.1 It can also process a client’s lifestyle, nutrition, and sun exposure data with the aim of providing more individualized solutions. This tool can be added to a practice website as a widget or a floating button.

Banuba’s TINT

Banuba’s TINT offers try-on options and personalized skin recommendations based on skin concerns. It also demonstrates how skin care products work, helping boost patients’ skin care knowledge. Use the facial skin scanner for initial screening and wait for customized recommendations to appear. With its detailed analysis, users will get product suggestions based on their skin type and conditions.

One of the most enticing features of this tool is users can see potential outcomes of their skin care efforts, which can inspire them to achieve their desired results.

Perfect Corp’s AI Skin Diagnostic Solution

Perfect Corp is the AI beauty tool behind famous beauty apps such as YouCam Makeup and YouCam Enhance. The company offers businesses AI and AR SaaS solutions that provide customers with relevant beauty and fashion recommendations.

It offers various services, including Skincare Pro—an innovative skin analysis app that detects up to 14 skin concerns within seconds and provides a comprehensive report afterward. Using this data, clinicians can give tailored solutions aimed at helping to alleviate their patients’ skin concerns. Skincare Pro also has a cloud-based CRM dashboard, making it easy to manage customer data and track treatment progress.

The company also offers a portable skin scanner tool—a device you may use in your clinic to attract more customers.

L'OREAL'S AI-POWERED BEAUTY GENIUS

Beauty Genius—a tool powered by generative AI, augmented reality, and the expertise of L’Oreal Paris—answers concerns and creates tailored routines based on personal preferences. It’s like a 24/7 virtual beauty assistant. The app can track skin condition on varying days. For instance, it can detect increased hyperpigmentation on the cheeks compared to the previous day.

Anyone can sign up to enjoy the benefits of Beauty Genius. It has a virtual try-on technology with suggestions tested by makeup artists on more than 10,000 products in 50 countries. Moreover, it offers online skin diagnosis with an algorithm trained on more than 16,000 inclusive images.

NEUTROGENA'S SKIN360

This free service scans a person’s face and identifies skin health based on six key factors, including wrinkles, smoothness, and dark spots. After the skin analysis, the AI beauty tool will suggest ingredients to address problem areas, making personalized skin care recommendations accessible to everyone. For instance, the app might suggest retinol for mature skin to help diminish wrinkles and fine lines.

CARA CHAT

CARA Chat is The Good Face Project’s proprietary artificial intelligence that functions similarly to ChatGPT. However, this tool is only trained to converse about formulations, regulations, and claims, ensuring responses are tailored to professional needs.

You can integrate your existing databases—such as ingredient supplier portals—as a basis for responses. For example, this tool can create a comprehensive list of skin care product formulations, making it ideal for product innovation professionals, dermatologists, sales leads, and other beauty professionals.

ARE BEAUTY TOOLS THAT USE AI ACCURATE?

The skin care industry, projected to grow to about $145 billion by 2028, is experiencing rapid growth due to AI.2 As AI continues sweeping the industry, customers will embrace this modern approach.

However, the accuracy of AI beauty tools depends on several factors, such as image quality, diversity of training data and certain limitations. At the end of the day, they are merely tools—no AI beauty system is capable of a comprehensive physical examination or biopsies, which are essential for a definitive diagnosis.

It’s important to note that these tools should not be used as a substitute for professional medical evaluation. You can maximize the personalization benefits of these systems. Brands focusing on providing tailored recommendations enjoy up to a 40% sales increase in revenue.3

EMBRACE AI BEAUTY TOOLS

As AI beauty tools advance, you can look forward to more innovative systems that offer beyond prescriptive skin care routines and face scanners. While AI systems are slowly becoming more capable of assessing skin care problems, remember that they can’t replace your expertise.
