What is Alastin's Restorative Neck Complex with TriHex Technology?

Carolyn Jacob, MD: Alastin Skincare's Restorative Neck Complex was introduced specifically to address the unique challenges of the delicate skin on the neck and décolleté. The formulation combines selected peptides and active botanicals to help tighten and firm the skin as well as address redness and photoaged discoloration on this drier, more sensitive, and often neglected area. Additional ingredients target crepey skin, dehydration, and fine lines and wrinkles.

Why has it been difficult to address the signs of aging in this delicate area?

Dr. Jacob: The neck skin is so thin, it shows changes second only to the eyelids. Plus, your neck is always moving, so this combined with years of sun damage, creates a challenging skin concern many women face. It makes a big difference if you prejuvenate—take care of your skin prior to seeing the signs of aging. Restorative Neck Complex has been shown to minimize the appearance of redness and photoaged discoloration, as well as the appearance of crepey skin, fine lines, and wrinkles.

What types of results are your patients seeing?

Dr. Jacob: TriHex Technology helps to clear out old, damaged collagen and elastin tissue to leave way for the production of new, healthier skin. This process starts with the first application, but typically it takes three to four months to really start to see results as this area has often been neglected for years. The response from our patients has been excellent. Many of my patients report an overall decrease in the amount of sagging of the neck skin with continued usage. Improvements have been demonstrated at both the cellular and surface levels of the skin, showing healthy new elastin, thicker skin, and an improved barrier protection for improved hydration.

Do you combine it with other products or procedures?

Dr. Jacob: It is an excellent product for daily use and also works synergistically with neck tightening, toning, and pigment reducing procedures. I always have patients use SPF daily on their necks and vitamin A creams on the face, neck, and chest as well. Since the neck skin is different from facial skin in terms of sebaceous structure, I consistently use the Restorative Neck Complex for prepping the skin for non-surgical neck rejuvenation procedures. In addition, I have patients using the product post procedure to enhance and extend their results. I have found it to be both an effective topical treatment when used on its own, and also as part of an ongoing skin care regimen. I recommend that it be used twice a day—morning and evening—starting on the décolleté and applying with upward strokes toward your jawline.
