New in My Practice: Devices
Each edition, Modern Aesthetics will ask top aesthetic physicians about the newest devices they've added to their practices. This month Neil Sadick, MD, FAAD, FAACS, FACP, FACPh talks about his experience with VENUS FREEZE. Dr. Sadick is Clinical Professor of Dermatology, Weill Cornell Medical College and President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
What is the latest device you have introduced into practice?
The latest device we have introduced into our practice is the Venus Freeze. The reason we introduced it is because it is a technology that can be used for skin tightening any place on the body, it's totally painless, and is associated with very high patient satisfaction.
What has been your experience with the Venus Freeze thus far?
We've had amazing patient satisfaction with this device. They've had excellent clinical results utilizing this technology for tightening their abdomens, their face, their arms, and their thighs, and it's totally painless. It almost feels like a spa treatment.
Based on your experience, how would you rate the performance of the device?
Based on my experience, I would rate the performance of this device extremely high because it's associated, again, with no patient discomfort and gives you excellent clinical results for skin tightening on the face or any part of the body.
What was the best thing you did to introduce the device? Is there anything you would have done differently?
The best thing we did to market the device was to let the press know that this was a new generation technology. Individuals such as Dr. Oz are very interested in magnetic pulsing, which is part of this technology. What I would have done differently perhaps is to again have a more advanced scientific study initially before we introduced the device that again would have been more attractive to many other physicians referring patients as well as to our own patient clientele.
