Elevai empower and Elevai enfinity

Curcio, MD, MPH, a dermatologist and the CEO & Founder of Curcio Dermatology, PC in Nashville, TN, weighs in on Elevai empower and Elevai enfinity, two products that deliver exosomes, today’s buzziest skincare ingredient.

What are Elevai empower and Elevai enfinity?

Natalie M. Curcio, MD, MPH: Elevai refers to these products as their “E-Series,” and they are designed to take patients from the post- and peri-treatment space to a daily regimen. Empower is used immediately post-procedure after lasers and energy-based devices to decrease redness/inflammation in the skin. Enfinity is Elevai’s daily use product that contains multiple forms of hyaluronic acid, ceramides, vitamin C, glutathione, and niacinamide. Patients can apply enfinity twice daily after cleansing the skin and it is ideal to maintain and treat the skin between procedures.

What are exosomes and how does Elevai’s exosome technology stand out from other exosome-based products?

Dr. Curcio: Exosomes are nanosized extracellular vesicles or tiny particles that are less than 1/100 the size of the cell. They are produced by nearly all cell types and are present in all biological fluids. They are like “little envelopes” or a piece of mail that one cell sends to another cell that contains biological messages including proteins, DNA, messenger RNA, microRNA, metabolites, and lipids.

In late 2022, I found out about Elevai’s Precision Regenerative Exosome Technology and the combination of products that mimic the natural rejuvenation messages of very young skin, so it begins to behave like younger skin.

The company’s exosomes are derived from human umbilical mesenchymal stem cells (huMSC). More specifically, from the Warton’s Jelly in the umbilical cord, which contains the youngest concentration of ethically sourced MSCs. These exosomes are isolated using a proprietary method and grown in an animal-component-free media at 37oC. In addition, they are fully manufactured in the United States in Elevai’s California-based labs. Elevai exosomes are formulated and packaged to be stable at room temperature, not frozen.

How long have you been recommending the E-series?

Dr. Curcio: I first brought the products on to my in-office cosmeceuticals in late 2022. We started using empower first, and my patients and I were very impressed by the results. Empower’s ability to reduce redness in a post-procedure setting after a variety of laser and energy-based devices was like nothing I had ever seen before. Those patients started asking for a daily product with the same active ingredients. For me, it was a natural transition to carrying the daily product, enfinity. Now, I recommend both products on their own and in combination, depending on the needs of each patient and their specific procedure.
